CDL hot-shot carriers running a pickup truck and gooseneck trailer (or similar setup) with a combined weight over 26,000 lbs. If your combination requires a CDL and you're crossing state lines for hire, you need everything in this package.

What Happens After I Order?

We contact you to confirm the company details you entered in the cart form. We file your DOT application and get your USDOT number the same day. Your MC authority generates the next business day. We attach your BOC-3 and explain your insurance requirements. During the 21-day waiting period, we set up your IFTA, IRP, driver file, and drug testing. Once your insurance is on file and the waiting period ends, your authority goes active.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between this and the Semi-Truck package? No 2290 HVUT filing. Your vehicle is under 55,000 lbs, so you don't owe heavy vehicle use tax. Otherwise the compliance requirements are the same.

Do I need IFTA and IRP for hot-shot? If your truck and trailer combined weigh over 26,000 lbs or your truck has 3+ axles, yes. These are required for interstate fuel tax and registration.

What if my combination is under 26,000 lbs? Check out our Box Truck package instead. You won't need IFTA, IRP, or drug testing at that weight.

Do I need a CDL for hot-shot? If your combined weight is over 26,000 lbs, yes. The CDL requirement triggers the drug testing and Clearinghouse requirements in this package.
