Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need drug testing for a box truck? Only if your vehicle requires a CDL. Non-CDL vehicles under 26,000 lbs are not subject to federal drug testing rules. Some states have their own requirements.
Do I need IFTA and IRP? IFTA and IRP are only required for vehicles over 26,000 lbs or with 3+ axles. Most box trucks are exempt.
What about a medical card? Every driver operating a commercial vehicle in interstate commerce needs a valid DOT medical card. If your driver doesn't have one, select the package option that includes a medical card.
Can I add drug testing later? Yes. If you grow into larger vehicles or your state requires it, you can add a drug and alcohol consortium anytime.
