IFTA Account Registration

from $109.00

Register for IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) with your base state. IFTA is required for qualified motor vehicles over 26,000 lbs, or with 3 or more axles, that travel in multiple states or Canadian provinces. One registration covers fuel tax reporting for every jurisdiction you run.

We file your IFTA application, deliver your fuel tax license and annual decals, and set you up with your state portal credentials. Then we explain the part most new carriers underestimate: the quarterly reports you'll owe from now on, which we can also file for you.

New registration or annual renewal, either way it's handled.

IFTA filing through TIPS is not available in Florida, Pennsylvania, or North Carolina.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a base state?+

Your base state is where your qualified motor vehicles are based for vehicle registration or where you have an established place of business. You register for IFTA with that state and file all quarterly reports through them.

When are IFTA quarterly reports due?+

January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31. Reports are due even if you did not travel or owe any taxes that quarter.

What if I get stopped without IFTA credentials?+

You could be fined, required to purchase a temporary fuel tax permit, or placed out of service until you obtain proper credentials.

Do I need new decals every year?+

Yes. IFTA decals are issued annually and must be displayed on both sides of your cab. Your license also needs to be renewed each year.

Do you file the quarterly reports too?+

Registration and reporting are separate services. This one opens your account and gets your credentials; the IFTA Quarterly Reports service handles the four filings a year, calculations included.

Is IFTA included in your start-up packages?+

The CDL Hot-Shot and Semi-Truck start-up packages include IFTA account registration. This standalone service is for renewals and for carriers who already have their authority.
